Home visiting care for adults and people with disabilities in Devnya municipality

This project proposal aims to provide support to elderly and people with disabilities in the municipality of Devnya, who in a period of crisis, related to the pandemic from COVID-19, have the most difficulties in their everyday functioning. The situation puts their health and lives at serious risk and it is difficult for them to meet their basic needs due to physical and social limitations. The main goal of the project is to improve the quality of life and remove the barriers to the social inclusion of people at risk, whose health and lives are threatened in a period of crisis. The project supports directly not just the people most threatened by COVID-19 and people in quarantine, but also indirectly affects the rest of the community, by limiting the spread. As a result of the realization of the project short-term effects are expected, related to support for elderly with and without disabilities in the municipality of Devnya to manage their everyday lives. The main activities, planned in the project, are recruitment of staff for management of the service and providing support at home, through buying the necessary products, medication and payment of utility bills. The project envisions activities for ensuring safe access of the staff to the users of the service by providing protective equipment and transport. The activity for informing and communication will ensure the inclusion of users in the services, as well as third parties, regarding financing. It is expected that the total number of users will be 38 in 3 locations in the municipality. A separate space for a dispatch center is envisioned, from where the project activities will be coordinated. The duration of the project is 10 months and the services will be provided hourly, depending on the needs of the target groups for 10 months.
