Support for safety - patronage care for elderly people and persons with disabilities in Yablanitsa municipality

The project proposal of the municipality of Yablanitsa aims to provide support to elderly people over 65 with limitations or inability to self-care; people with disabilities and their families and elderly people at risk in a period of crisis. These people have difficulties in moving and limited possibilities for supplying themselves with essential goods, medication and payment of utility bills. The users from the indicated target group are not able to supply themselves with food and medication and to pay their utility bills without help due to health reasons, physical limitations and in the current situation of a Coronavirus pandemic; they live alone in remote places and are in social isolation. The main aim of the project is to improve the quality of life and remove the barriers towards social inclusion of people at risk, who may not be able to satisfy their current needs and face new challenges in a period of crisis. The expected results from the achievement of the goal are related to providing support to elderly with and without disabilities in the municipality of Yablanitsa for managing everyday life. The main activities, planned in the project, are recruitment of staff for management and provision of the service, ensuring support at home, purchase of the necessary products and medication, payment of utility bills and urgent administrative services. A possibility for transport from/to the homes of the users, as well as protective equipment for the staff of the service will be provided, in order to ensure access of the users to the service and their safety. It is expected that the number of users will be 29 people in the municipality, identified by the Managing authority as acceptable. A separate space for a dispatch center is envisioned, where the activities will be coordinated. The duration of the project is 10 months and the services will be provided hourly, depending on the needs of the target groups.
