Help for hope – Patronage care for elderly and people with disabilities in the municipality of Kremikovtsi This project is oriented towards support for elderly and people with disabilities, who due to specific limitations in a period of crisis have difficulties in the access to essential goods, medication, payment of utility bills and administrative services. The main goal of the project is to remove the barriers to social inclusion and to improve the quality of life of elderly at risk, who face serious challenges in meeting their basic needs during a crisis. Furthermore, these groups of people (people most threatened by COVID-19, as well as people in quarantine) live at home and the situation requires the local authorities to develop practices for prevention of the spread of the virus among other groups in the community, which this project will contribute to. The expected short-term effects of the achievement of the project’s goal are related to ensuring support for elderly with and without disabilities in the municipality of Kremikovtsi in Sofia region to cope with their everyday lives. The main activities planned in the project are recruitment of staff for management and provision of the service and provision of support for users’ independent life. In view of ensuring access of the users to the service, as well as their safety, possibilities for transport from/to their homes and protective equipment for the staff of the service will be provided. It is expected that the number of users will be 81, living at the territory of Kremikovtsi, identified by the Managing authority as acceptable. A separate space for a dispatch center is envisioned, where activities will be coordinated. The duration of the project is 16 months and the services will be provided hourly, depending on the needs of the target groups for the whole period.
