Patronage care for elderly and people with disabilities in the municipality of Varbitsa

The project ‘Patronage care for elderly and people with disabilities in the municipality of Varbitsa’ provides support in line with the government’s actions to limit the spread of the coronavirus, aiming at protecting the most vulnerable and threatened by the virus members of society. The common goal of the project proposal is oriented towards providing a network of home services to vulnerable people, including people with disabilities and elderly, leading to an increase in their well-being and possibilities for social inclusion. Specific goals: • Meeting the identified need for providing home services for the residents determined to be at risk in the municipality of Varbitsa – people who are over 65 years old with limited or no possibility to take care of themselves, people with disabilities and their families, as well as people in quarantine imposed by the health authorities, in view of preventing the spread of COVID-19. • Providing appropriate resource and staff capacity for establishing a network of services at the territory of the municipality of Varbitsa, by which the negative consequences from social isolation due to the coronavirus will be reduced. 39 people will be included in the scope of the project, representatives of the target group. The activities will be implemented for a period of 10 months and are the following: 1. Recruitment and hiring of staff for provision of services for overcoming the consequences from the coronavirus. 2. Delivery of food, groceries and essential goods, including medication (bought with resources of the users or other resources, different from those specified in the contract), payment of utility bills, requesting and receiving urgent administrative services. 3. Transport of the staff, providing the services from/to the homes of the users. Providing personal protective equipment and disinfectants for the staff of the services.
