Patronage care in Apriltsi Municipality

This project proposal is oriented towards supporting people with disabilities and elderly who in a crisis have difficulties in moving and limited possibilities for supplying themselves with essential commodities and medication and for paying their utility bills. The main objective of the project is to improve the quality of life and remove barriers to social inclusion of people at risk, for whom in a crisis there is a big risk to not satisfy their current needs, as well as to have additional needs. Additionally, the inclusion of people, directly affected by the crisis (people most threatened by COVID-19 and people in quarantine) in the project will contribute to direct support, not just for them, but also for prevention of a spread among the community. The expected short-term effects of the achievement of the project’s goal are related to providing support to vulnerable elderly people with and without disabilities in the municipality of Apriltsi for dealing with everyday life. The activities in the project are: 1. Selection and hiring of staff for provision of services to overcome the effects of Coronavirus; 2 Delivery of food, groceries and essentials, including medication (purchased with the resources of the beneficiaries or other resources, different from those in the contract), payment of utility bills, requesting and receiving urgent administrative services; 3. Transport of the staff, providing the services from/to the homes of the people. Providing personal protective equipment and disinfectants for the staff of the services. It is expected that the number of users will be 22 people in the municipality of Apriltsi, entified by the managing authority as acceptable. The duration of the project is 10 months and the services will be provided hourly, depending on the needs of the target groups.
