Straldja municipality is a small municipality with a population of mixed ethnic character. The demographic collapse and aging of the population are a characteristic feature of all settlements in the municipality. Single elderly people over 65 years of age and people with disabilities who live in the villages of Straldzha municipality face a number of problems: difficult access to health care, inability to organize their own lifestyle and daily activities, and lack of social contacts. Taking into account the demographic situation and the pronounced trend of population aging on the territory of the municipality and the depopulation of the villages, the needs of specially targeted individual social services for the elderly and disabled people from the small settlements are clearly expressed. By implementing the project and the activities pledged it will create the conditions and prerequisites for overcoming the risk of poverty or social exclusion of people with disabilities and the elderly, especially for single-lived adults OPA 65 - years due to their dependence on social benefits and lack of support from family and friends to combat poverty and social exclusion.
