Social Inclusion in Karlukovo

The project is a continuation of the municipal policy for social and active inclusion, by applying an integrated approach. The opening of a Centre for Early Childhood Development in the village of Karlukovo (the last village in the municipality without a kindergarten nor school with a preparatory group) will cover the process of activation and social inclusion of people from disadvantaged groups - inactive, engaged in parenting of children or care of persons at home. One part of the people from these groups will be activated for starting work in the Centre, and another - for their inclusion in the "School for Parents” and participation of their children as users in the hourly care that the Centre will offer. In the frame of the project, part-time consultative services will be provided by a psychologist, an "Early Childhood Development" expert, a nurse and a midwife through individual consultations and lections at the "School for Parents". A social worker and a lawyer with experience in the social field will work with families with children, incl. with disabilities, children at risk, single parents, large families at risk of poverty and other vulnerable groups for whom information was received in the village of Karlukovo. The Centre for Early Childhood Development will recruit its staff on labour contracts: a community worker, two babysitters and a cleaner-hygienist / maintenance. The Centre will provide part-time care for children with related to psychomotor, cognitive, linguistic, social and emotional development of the child through play. The Centre will be furnished and equipped, incl. with teaching materials and toys, with estimated costs for electricity for heating with air conditioning. The project will last 20 months with a preparatory period and 18 months of activity of the Centre for Early Childhood Development.
