Development and implementation of quality standards in the provision of youth services in Bulgaria

The current project proposal aims to improve the accessibility, effectiveness and quality of youth services by developing, implementing and validating quality standards and developing performance indicators, taking into account the end result of the young person from their use. The implementation of such a project responds to the new trends suggesting a redesigning of the existing approaches in the youth field that should be adapted and flexible to the changing environment and the growing need for a unified, targeted and consistent youth policy in Bulgaria. The specific objectives of the project are related to the development of minimum standards guaranteeing equality in the provision of services leading to increasing of knowledge, skills and competences, building an effective system for evaluation and control of their quality, establishing a long-term and financing of youth services, the introduction of flexible models of funding and valuation of youth services. The validation of standards in the funding of youth activities that boost the services available to young people aged 15-29 years will improve the planning and management of the youth policies. The specific objectives reflect the established need to align and adopt minimum requirements for working with young people in the country, which will improve the capacity of institutions to properly plan, forecast and manage youth policies. The implementation of the activities that are planned within the project proposal will contribute to the establishment of a consistent state policy in the field of youth.
