Social innovation in the care for the elderly people

The project is developed through a partnership between the Municipality Aytos, by pursuing its policy in the field of social services at the local level and Homek AB, Sweden, specializes in providing care for elderly people in their homes or in institutions. The implementation of activities will be done mainly in home for elderly (DSH) "Martyr Dimitriy Solunski" -g. Ajtos, which is the pilot organization where the social innovations will be implemented. They consist of 1) the development of professional standards for profession under-sister in the nomenclature of the staff involved in caring for the elderly, and 2) Creating conditions for providing opportunities for communication in the mother tongue for the elderly in specialized institutions. This will be achieved by study of social systems in Bulgaria and Sweden and innovation survey, elaboration of professional standards and training program to it, implementation of innovations through a series of training staff in DSH and site visit for exchange of know-how and experience with Swedish partner. Social innovations at the end of the project will be subject to a sustainability assessment in order to determine the potential impact of the innovations. For the needs of the training it is foreseen purchase of equipment and furniture, so that in the home to have established a hall for training. All activities are aimed at achieving results that contribute to specific objectives - Improve the administrative capacity of officials involved in social activities and services, and create conditions for implementation of the proposed social innovation. So the project will reach its main objective - "Improving the quality of care in nursing homes by introducing social innovation." The target groups are individuals employed in specialized institutions; adults living in specialized institutions; officials from Municipality Aytos.
