Best practices and innovative approaches to promote self-employment and entrepreneurship - the engine of economic growth in the region of Shumen

The project is aimed at the specific purpose of the procedure promote transnational cooperation in terms of exchange of experience, best practices and models for promoting self-employment and creation of small private business..The main aim is: Increased number and activity of individuals to start a business through self-employment, entrepreneurship and the creation of small businesses. Target group to which it is aimed are people willing to start their own business. Identified problems of the target group are: Insufficient training of persons looking for an opportunity to start their own business; lack of experience and best practices of European countries; weak commitment of local authorities to the problems and needs of people, who want to start own business. Planned activities include survey and workshop discussions to identify the specific needs of the target group; organizing scientific conference; working visit in Wolverhampton, UK to explore best practices; preparing a manual for studied and adapted to Bulgarian conditions best practice models to start own business; develop a program to support self-employment and entrepreneurship in the municipality of Shumen; development of guidelines for starting a small business, conducting short-term training of persons from the target group; adaptation of curricula on entrepreneurship in Shumen CCI and partners; forming a club in Shumen CCI to support people who start their own business. Results: -Studied and adapted to Bulgarian conditions best practices for providing consulting services to run a small business from Wolverhampton, UK; -studied model for local authorities to encourage and support people how to start a business; -program to support self-employment and entrepreneurship in the municipality of Shumen; -guide to starting a small business; -improved knowledge of potential entrepreneurs to create their own small businesses; -providing new services in Shumen CCI for potential entrepreneurs.
