KIDS VOICE

The „Kids Voice " project is related to experience, best practices and transfer of social innovations to improve the capacity of children in early childhood, their parents and informal leaders from marginalized communities in “Sredna kula” neighborhood Ruse Municipality from Municipality of Castelfidardo, Italy . The candidate of the project proposal is "Equilibrium" association which has extensive experience in working with children and families. The project corresponds to Program’s Investment Priority 7: „Socio-economic integration of marginalized communities such as the Roma". The social innovations to be transferred are 3 linked methodologically in 1 innovative model (focus groups, motivational interviewing, and innovative methods for early intervention). The direct target group of the project is 30 parents with children aged 0 to 5 years and their children at this age. The indirect target group is all stakeholders (local authorities, institutions, NGOs, social service providers) who work and implement policies related to Roma community. The project activities are connected with - to identify direct target group by creating informal register and survey; analysis and comparison of similarities and differences in the specifics and the needs of target groups from Bulgaria and Italy; visit Castelfidardo and study good practices and models; adaptation and validation of social innovations; assess the results in the creation of innovative social model and its applicability; development practical guide for innovative approach to work with Roma children aged 0-5 and their parents; dissemination and development of PR strategy. The expected results are associated with improved skills of 30 parents about the peculiarities of child development from 0 to 5 years; positive parenting and the importance of creating a stimulating environment for the children and at least 20 children assisted in the process of acquiring the necessary skills inclusion in educational system.
