Digital Skills for Bulgarian SMEs

A study of the candidate Global Libraries Bulgaria Foundation and its partner Association “Made in Bulgaria” conducted among 237 SMEs in the districts of Plovdiv, Smolyan and Stara Zagora, showed that employees need easy access to flexible informal learning processes in digital competences. The project's overall objective is to enhance the opportunities for sustainable employment and quality of the labor force in Bulgarian SMEs. Its specific objectives are to build a sustainable transnational partnerships between stakeholders from Latvia and Bulgaria by transfer of innovative practices; to adapt in Plovdiv, Smolyan and Stara Zagora districts an innovative educational model for the acquisition of digital competence of employees in SMEs; to establish public libraries as a center for digital inclusion of employees and improve the prospects for sustainable employment of 30 employees from SMEs in the three districts. Within the project will be implemented a five-day visit of 8 experts and 2 SMEs to exchange experiences in Latvia. Development of three local partner networks of stakeholders in the three Bulgarian districts. Will be adapted an innovative educational program with four modules based on transfer of 6 innovative practices. At the regional libraries will be implemented three one-month pilot trainings for 30 employees of SMEs to acquire contemporary digital competences. Will be entrusted an evaluation of the adaptation of the innovations. Will be implemented a campaign of results dissemination among 960 libraries of GLBF's network, nearly 1400 members of Association "Made in Bulgaria" and stakeholders at local and national level. As a result of the project 30 employed in SMEs in the three districts will have increased their digital skills through easy access to flexible forms of informal learning. They will have increased their productivity, competitiveness on the labor market and their employment sustainability.
