Design Thinking - Building Bridges

Project "Design Thinking - Building Bridges" enhances the transnational cooperation and exchange of experience and good practices between Oulu University of Applied Sciences in Finland and the Bulgarian training organization Design Studio 8. The two organizations will jointly develop and adapt two social innovations in support of self-employment, entrepreneurship, enterprise creation, including innovative micro, small and medium-sized enterprises. The project focuses on the topic of investment priority 4 of the procedure as it directly contributes to solving concrete problems and meets the needs of the target group. The planned activities in the frames of the project are: identification, creation, and implementation of two social innovations: Design Thinking for entrepreneurship and Impact Assessment Canvas. For this purpose, joint visits and workshops will be organized with the participation of target groups and stakeholders, good and innovative social practices in support of entrepreneurship will be analyzed and the results achieved will be evaluated and disseminated. Each partner has a unique experience which, when combined will contribute to developing entrepreneurship and fostering self-employment, business growth and social innovation. Finland will take advantage of Bulgaria's knowledge of working with companies while applying the methodologies design thinking and lean startup and the expertise it possess in the sphere of social innovations. Bulgaria will acquire knowledge about applying the methodology of design thinking in an academic context and will research and adapt the impact assessment canvas for startups. Both social innovations, result of this project, compliment each other and create a base for a complete solution of the identified needs of the target group.
