National portal for spatial data (INSPIRE)

The project is aimed to the improvement of the infrastructure for spatial information infrastructure and processes related to spatial data exchange under the Spatial Data Access Act (SDAA) and the requirements of Directive 2007/2/EU establishing an Infrastructure for Spatial Information in the European Community (INSPIRE). The project provides the construction and implementation of a National Spatial Data Portal (NSDP), based on art.12, par.4 of the SDAA, taking good practice from the INSPIRE Portals of other EU Member States, stable, easy to use, providing fast access in machine readable, open format to all available content of the spatial data sets included in the themes of the SDAA/ Directive 2007/2/EU and their services. The portal will provide the opportunity for the public authorities which, by virtue of a normative act, collect, create, maintain and disseminate updated databases of spatial data related to the execution of their powers and provide public services, to have mutual access to the data sets they maintain related to spatial information and statutory services for working with them. An analysis of existing practices and regulations in the field of spatial information infrastructure in Bulgaria and other European countries will be carried out within the project in order to improve the processes related to the spatial data exchange. An action plan for harmonization of the arrangements in accordance with the requirements of INSPIRE for 26 administrations will also be elaborated, as well as a National Spatial Data Portal will be developed and implemented.
