Upgrade and development of a State Hybrid Private Cloud for e-Government needs

Upgrading of the State Hybrid Private Cloud and the gradual increasing of its capacity is a key element in the process of establishing e-government in Bulgaria. It is part of the shared resources and technological basis for the deployment and operation of the existing and the new elements of the information layer of e-Government. The main activities of the project are in accordance to the Concept for Upgrading and Development of a State Hybrid Private Cloud for the e-Governance in the Republic of Bulgaria, approved by the Chairman of the State e-Government Agency on 05.07.2018. Upgrading and developing of the State Hybrid Private Cloud will allow smaller administrations and will enable larger ones to provide the necessary ICT infrastructure, in order to implement e-services for citizens and business. The State Hybrid Private Cloud will be based on 4 data centers - Data Processing Centers 1 and 2, Recovery Center and Control Center of e-Government. In order to ensure the optimal functioning of the State Hybrid Private Cloud, including the provision of all types of cloud services, the following will be done in the framework of the project: • Design and construction of the engineering infrastructure of Data Processing Centre 2 and provision of backup connection with Data Processing Centre 1; • Design and construction of the engineering infrastructure of Recovery Center and the creation of a reserve repository; • Development of the State Hybrid Private Cloud architecture; • Design, construction and launching of shared cloud infrastructure for cloud services; • Organizing and conducting trainings for staff of State e-Government Agency and other administrations, which provide services through the State Hybrid Private Cloud; • Enhancing the capacity of the Single Electronic Communications Network for the purposes of the State Hybrid Private Cloud and construction of a Security Internet Center.
