Expanding the Expert Capacity of MI Officers for the Prevention of Aggressive Behaviours in Society, Corruption and Radicalization

Recent social, political, economical and immigration processes exert an impact on the stability of state institutions. The Ministry of the Interior (MI) is a responsive administration that works entirely in the area of social risks. Thus, the human factor represents very important resource in implementing these duties. One of the essential activities included in the Project is a research on aggressive behaviours. Within the framework of Activity 1, two investigations on that topic will be implemented via the participation of three external researchers. The results of both investigations will serve as a basis for the development of training materials and the further implementation of actual trainings of 6000 uniformed police officers and will be realized and supervised by experts at the Institute of Psychology – MI (IPMI). The implementation of Activity 2 is determined by the necessity of developing further the professional competencies of MI officers in the area of polygraph work towards the prevention and combating of corruption within the MI. Hence, Activity 2 will include the training in polygraph work of officers at specialized structures of the MI who are directly engaged in the prevention and combating of corruption in the MI system. The Project will also emphasize on the implementation of a specialized expert investigation on the detection of early signs of radicalization with a view of its timely prevention (Activity 3). The investigation will be conducted by an external multidisciplinary team. It will include a multidisciplinary-method research on communities at risk. Within that Activity, a Manual on the topic will also be developed and issued. The investigations and trainings will be technologically provided for, and the Project activities and results will be publically announced.
