Improving the specialized knowledge and skills of Road Infrastructure Agency staff for the use of spatial data and geospatial technologies

Many RIA activities require processing, management and analysis of spatial data and use of geospatial technologies. That`s why RIA staff needs to build such expertise. With the implementation of the project, this need will be met by the training of particular groups of RIA staff with functions and responsibilities for which the spatial data and geospatial technologies are needed. The main objective of the proposal is to improve the specialized knowledge and skills of RIA staff. The specific objectives are: (1)Improving the specific knowledge and skills of the staff for work with spatial data and geospatial technologies in order to increase their professional qualification for more efficient and qualitative performance of their duties (2)Improving the specialized knowledge and skills of RIA staff in order to achieve more efficient and sustainable use of the available GIS applications and geodata. The target groups are: 1.Administrative Services, Human Resources and Property Management; Communications and Information; Information Technologies and Systems;Public Procurement and Legal Services, Maintenance of Road Infrastructure;Investment Design and Alienation Procedures;Implementation of OPRD projects; Implementation of OPTTI projects;Risk Analysis and Operational Control;Road Charges and Permits;Management of Strategic Infrastructure Projects;Road Safety and Activities on the National Road Network. 2.The 27 regional road administrations 3.Central laboratory for Roads and bridges Main activities: (1)Conduction of a specialized classroom training on spatial data and GIS technologies(2)Conduction of a specialized classroom training for use of the existing specialised GIS system and its components(3)Conduction of a specialized online training for use of the existing GIS systems and its components Expected results: 1. 12 specialised trainings 2. 416 trained agency staff 3. 416 agency staff successfully passed the training with a certificate
