Improvement of the specialized knowledge and skills of surveillance and control bodies of the State Agency for Metrological and Technical Surveillance

Strengthening of the administrative capacity and increasing the efficiency of the activities carried out by surveillance and control bodies of the State Agency for Metrological and Technical Surveillance (SAMTS) guarantees the protection of society and environment from dangerous and non-compliant products, incorrect measurements, dangerous for exploitation high-risk equipment and poor quality liquid fuels as well as the safe exploitation of dam walls and related facilities, equal conditions for offering products on the Bulgarian market as part of the Single European Market. One of the prerequisites for achieving high-performing administration having a high level of employees' competence is increasing of expert potential and the expansion of specialized knowledge and skills of the employees. The project includes 3 main activities related to the organisation and conducting of specialized trainings and activities for transfer of experience and good practices of SAMTS employees as well as information and communication activities. Through the implementation of project activities the improvement and extension of professional competence and qualification of the SAMTS specialized administration will be achieved as well as the organization and effectiveness improvement of the activities related to market surveillance, technical inspection and metrological supervision, liquid fuels quality control and control of the technical condition and safe exploitation of dam walls and related facilities. The results achievement will lead to a higher expert level of performance, improvement of the effectiveness of surveillance and control activities and shorter time for taking corresponding measures. The implementation of information and communication activities will provide important information to the economic operators about the project and the Operational Program "Good Governance" as well as will promote the SAMTS activities.
