Coalition for civic participation of diabetic patients and their families in the development and implementation of policies and legislation

With the current Project Association Diabetes 2012 Haskovo is asking the society to work close to make diabetes a priority for government and administration - and to make it their urgent priority. This Project is to summarise the key demands of government and administration to help people tackle diabetes and to improve the lives of people with diabetes. Some of these demands relate to areas devolved to local health areas but government both national and local and administrations clearly have a role in determining what is treated as a priority within the National Healthcare Strategy and in framing the terms of legislation and the proposed strategic documents. And individual politicians and public representatives at all levels as well as a school director or a local councillor - have an important role in making diabetes a priority. The project activities are set up to ensure that the proposed recommendations /at least 4/ will reach the responsible institutions in the chain and secure the people with diabetes have access to a variety of healthcare professionals in order to get the care they need. All professionals must work in partnership with one another in order to deliver a joined up, integrated service, based around the needs of the individual. The project is planned to deliver the next activities: - Gathering and analyzing data for the decision-making process; - Civil Monitoring - Establish a network aimed at improving civic participation; - Holding a conference on civic participation in policymaking processes; - Round tables with stakeholders; - Conducting information campaigns The target value of indicator No: 2 is at least 4, and that of indicator No: 3 is 2. The project includes activities from each of the four groups of activities described in the guidelines. The implementation plan takes into account the time needed for preparation, incl. conducting selection procedures for contractors. The total budget of the project is BGN 89 370.
