The issue addressed by the current project proposal is highly relevant in the society due to the strong civil unrest in 2018 related to the PPR detected for the first time in Bulgaria and in the EU, as well as the cases of African swine fever. It is crucial for citizens and businesses to be involved in active public consultations at national level to take pro-active participation in the process of formulating new, more reliable and transparent solutions to this state policy. In European context, in May 2018, the European Commission launched a new legislative initiative and distributed a Proposal for a Regulation aimed at reforming the current common food legislation seriously in order to improve transparency in risk assessment and exchange of risk information between NGOs, citizens, businesses and national authorities responsible for this policy. Within the project proposal, the project Applicant, together with the Partner organization, offer an integrated set of activities aimed at achieving the following objectives: 1. Improve partnership management with citizens and businesses by applying good practices and innovative solutions to implement food safety policy and legislation and risk across the food chain. 2. Enhance the open and responsible administration of the administration by creating a Register of stakeholders in the field of food safety and risk in the food chain, and by conducting a broad Information campaign. 3. Adopt recommendations for improving the regulatory environment by introducing good practices and a Mechanism with a toolkit to provide feedback and assessment by citizens and business on the actions of the RACFC in the risk assessment of the food chain.
