Improving the mechanism of civil participation in the process of formulation and implementation of the higher education policy in Bulgaria.

The current project proposal aims to improve the mechanism of civil participation in the formulation and implementation of the policy in the field of higher education in Bulgaria. Under Activity 1, two best practices from EU countries in that particula field will be examined in detail and a deep-seated study will be implemented to identify the for needs of trained staff of the business. Recommendations will be drafted and addressed to the responsible institutions to improve the policy formulation process in the higher education. The second activity of the project aims to develop a mechanism and tools to provide business feedback to policy makers in the field of higher education regarding the need for skilled personnel for the labor market. For this purpose, two round tables will be hold and an internet portal for collection and analysis of a database in the field will be created. Activity 3 aims at creation of a network of representatives of different target groups - administrative structures of the executive power, higher education institutions, non-governmental organizations, socio-economic partners, businesses, the wide public, which is to use the mechanism and the tools in order to provide feedback from the business side to the policy-making institutions in the field of higher education regarding the need for trained personnel for the labor market. The project will be completed for 24 months and its budget will be BGN 89991.52.
