Increasing the participation of the civil sector in the processes of formulation, implementation and monitoring of policies and legislation in the field of metal detecting

Metal detecting is an activity that is becoming more and more popular in Bulgaria. Together with its development, however, it faces a number of regulatory obstacles and impediments at the level of policies. It faces problems related to the administration's understanding of the nature of metal detecting and the rule of law that is put forward for resolution under the present project. The envisaged activities are meant to improve the understanding of all stakeholders on the rules in the field, the benefits of implementing this activity, the rules to be followed by unprofessional archaeologists, and to prepare proposals for developing the legislation to create a clear and a transparent regulatory environment and concrete rules for its interpretation.
