"Together for the Bulgarian Village!" - Informing the general public, collecting data on public attitudes, and developing databases to support the processes of formulating, implementing and monitoring policies and legislation in the Agriculture and Rural Development sector in order to improve civic participation in these processes .

Contrary to popular beliefs, policies and legislation related to agriculture and rural development are far from concerning only the farmers. They influence both directly and indirectly every citizen of the Republic of Bulgaria, no matter if heor she lives in the city or the village, as they affect the food, climate management and demography of the country. With this project, Smart AgroStart Foundation aims to develop an online platform to inform the general public on the current situation and changes in policies and legislation in the Agriculture and Rural Development sector, to collect data on public attitudes on various topics related to the information provided and process these data and develop databases which will subsequently be provided free of charge to both the general public and law-making institutions in order to improve citizen participation in the processes of formulation, implementation and monitoring of policies and legislation in the sector. This activity is of the utmost importance in the period of adoption and adaptation of the national legislation to the new regulations related to the new Common Agricultural Policy of the European Union for the period after 2020. Therefore, the involvement of the general public in the process of policy formulation and legislation in the sector is a timely and necessary measure to achieve a better, open and responsible partnership governance of the state, together with citizens and businesses, to achieve better regulatory environment, prevention of conflicts of interest and abuse of office, by disclosure of such practices and risks in the documents as well as improvement of the processes of provision of services and others.
