Raising citizen participation in the formulation, implementation and monitoring of social policies in the Sungurlare municipality.

The project is aimed at increasing civic participation in the process of shaping and controlling the implementation of policies at the local level, with emphasis being placed on the social sphere. The main objective of the project will be achieved through the following objectives: 1.Increase of civic participation in the process of formulation, implementation and monitoring of social policies and programs in Sungurlare Municipality. 2. Open, responsible and effective management of social policy in Sungurlare Municipality by introducing a mechanism for civil control and partnership management with NGOs and business sector. 3.Improving the processes of provision of social services on the territory of Sungurlare Municipality. The project initiative includes activities for the study, assessment, analysis and monitoring of the legal framework, policies and practices for civic participation in the social sphere and the research of good national and international practices for civic participation and monitoring in the formation and implementation of municipal policies, thus identifying the main weaknesses in the legal framework and problems in the municipality, as well as identifying good, effective and workable solutions and practices for involving citizens. It is planned to develop and implement a mechanism for civil monitoring and control in the process of formation and implementation of social policies and services in the municipality as a working and efficient practical and effective model as well as to inform and train the stakeholders about its practical application. For this purpose, training and information campaigns on capacity building and awareness-raising are planned. The target group includes representatives of the municipal administration, members of the advisory board on social issues, representatives of social institutions, members of “Ravnovesie” Association, representatives of NGOs and the businesses operating in Sungurlare. The budget is BGN 89858.82
