The future is in your hands

The project proposal envisages to be conducted activities for research, analyze of the civic participation in the regional development policy among representatives of regional/municipal administrations, citizens, NGOs and business in the districts of Plovdiv, Pazardjik, Smolyan, Haskovo, Kardjali (located in the territory of South Central Region at the time of drafting the project proposal, according to Article 3 of the Regional Development Act). Regional/municipal administrations, citizens, NGOs will be interviewed for their involvement in the development and implementation of the regional development strategy papers in force during the 2014-2020 programming period and will be examined their expectations of engaging them in the processes of decision making in regional policy, in particular, the development of baseline strategy papers in the next programming period 2021-2027. As a result of the conducted studies, a report with results will be prepared. The other activities under the project proposal include researching and collecting good practices from the country and abroad, developing analyzes /models for increasing civic participation. As a result of these mentioned activities, a document with recommendations to the administrations will be elaborated, and a feedback mechanism between administrations and stakeholders (citizens and NGOs) will be developed for effectively raising of citizen participation. In the last activities of the project a forum with the participation of regional, municipal administrations and NGOs and an incubator for ideas will be conducted during which citizens, NGOs and administrations will develop an example model for good citizenship participation-Investment Card for Priority Development of Selected District/City, which model can also be applied in the development of strategic documents for regional development in the next programming period 2021-2027. The project also includes indirect costs for organization, management and publicity.
