Initiative for strengthening the level of cyber security in Bulgaria

The project Initiative for strengthening the level of cybersecurity in Bulgaria is a unique initiative, without analog until now in Bulgaria. The goal of the project is to support the development and implementation of adequate measures and policy in the area of cybersecurity and the prevention of cybercrime in the public and private sector. This will be achieved by engaging civil society through a model for civil society monitoring during the process of development cybersecurity policy. The project envisages measuring the level of cybersecurity and dissemination of cyber threats in Bulgaria. This will be achieved by performing research and analysis among civil society, public administration and private sector about the critical information infrastructures, owned or accessed publicly by the target groups. Recommendations will be developed aiming to strengthen the efficiency and effectiveness of the public authorities in their fight against cyber threats to defend the business and end users interests’. An online platform model for civil society monitoring will be developed. It will support the processes of formulating, executing and monitorinf the cybersecurity policy at national and also at institutional organizational level. It will stimulate civil society participation in the area of cybersecurity and prevention of cyber incidents and cybercrime. An information campaign will engage the target groups in order to increase the level of information security and improve the trust in public institutions by citizens and business.
