Blockchain trust between citizens and government of Sofia Municipality

The aim of the project is to set up an interactive discussion forum to involve a wide range of stakeholders from Sofia Municipality (local government and municipal administration, private business, science and civil society) in a multilateral analytical debate focusing on the opportunities for application of blockchain technologies in the development of the long term vision for development of Sofia and establishment of sustainable and green policies. Blockchain technology is a decentralized model for shared network cryptography where each participant has a cryptographic footprint of protected content and can authenticate both its authenticity and integrity and the time / sequence of its generation with subsequent modifications and additions thereto (i.e. the authorship of these amendments and additions). The model is suitable for all processes and activities requiring reliable authentication - making formal statements, negotiating, decision making, signing legally binding contracts, conducting transactions, etc. Applying technology-secured communication mechanisms with the ability to authenticate the source, content and timing of making the relevant statements will contribute to improving the regulatory environment, fighting corruption and fostering trust among stakeholders. The Discussion Forum will reach a public consensus on the technological characteristics that the communication mechanisms should have, as well as the formulation and offering of a concrete plan to achieve the identified open and responsible management authorizations. The specific activities of the project include the formation of a team to carry out the activities, carry out a desk research and primary analysis, organize a debate in focus groups and conduct online and offline discussion forums, carry out an integrated analysis, conduct a final discussion forum and then submit proposals to the authorities .
