To improve citizen participation, responsibility and accountability of the administration, the key is to ensure the opening of public data and information sources, currently used for administrative purposes and to provide transparent information. The project aims to overcome the communication and interaction challenges between the administration and the civil society that arise due to weaknesses in the transparency of public information and open data and thus to encourage the involvement of civil society representatives in the formulation, implementation and monitoring of policies and legislation. The project encompass the following activities: Activity 1 Survey of the obstacles and challenges to citizen participation due to inefficient provision of transparent public information, including an open format Activity 2 Survey of good practices and innovative solutions to increase transparency and access to open data in 3 other EU Member States Action 3 Developing a model containing proposals to improve transparency and access to open data as a means to improve citizens' participation Action 4 Developing a mechanism for monitoring and measuring transparency and open data as a tool for civil monitoring Activity 5 Conducting training for partner employees Activity 6 Performing civil monitoring and measurement of transparency and open data as a tool for civil monitoring Activity 7 Conducting two round tables to discuss the project results.
