The main objective of the project proposal is to provide an environment for effective and efficient partnership between the general public, NGOs, business and local executive power for open and transparent governance by creating mechanisms for direct participation of people in the formation, implementation and monitoring of policies of Botevgrad municipality. The main activities of the project include: conducting a sociological survey that will identify the attitudes, preparedness and capacity of civil society and business to participate in the processes of formulating, implementing and monitoring of 5 policies of the local government in Botevgrad; carrying out a study of good practices and innovative solutions related to improving civic participation and developing, launching, promoting and functioning of the web-based platform "Dialogues on the future of Botevgrad" as mechanisms for direct participation of citizens in the process of policy formation and decision making in the Municipality of Botevgrad and tools for monitoring and issuing recommendations for improving the processes of providing services and implementation of 5 policies by the local administration. Through three types of tools (with the ability to participate in policy formulation, the ability to monitor policy performance, and an opportunity for awareness of open and accountable governance), the on-line platform will make possible quickly and efficiently non-governmental organizations and their employees, over 200 business representatives and 19 000 inhabitants of the local community in Botevgrad municipality to make suggestions and recommendations in the formation, decision-making and implementation policy on behalf of the Botevgrad Municipality. Through the implementation of the project, 5 recommendations will be made by NGOs and business to the process of formation, implementation and monitoring of 5 types of policies of Botevgrad Municipality.
