The transformation and strengthening of civil control as a real and significant factor for the development and modernization of the Perushtitsa municipality.

The main objective of the project is to achieve effective and professional partnership management with citizens and business and to improve the socio-economic environment as a result of more open and responsible management in the municipality of Perushtitsa as a result of the exchange of experience and good practices. Citizen participation in decision-making processes at local level is key to transparency in the work of local authorities. Effective and beneficial forms of interaction between local government and civil society are public / consultative / civic councils. These councils are consultative bodies for civic participation and public control at the local level, which assist local authorities to formulate and implement the municipal policy on sectors and issues important to the local community. For several years already, consultative councils have been established and function in various areas of local development in many Bulgarian municipalities. The aim of the project is to provide models for legitimate civic participation in decision-making to ensure a level and transparent choice of civic organizations, openness to their activities, strict accountability to citizens and responsibility for decision-making. The project aims at introducing good practices for civic participation at the local level, the ultimate result being the more effective implementation of the principles of democratic governance and public control over public policies. The existence of advisory bodies in which the civil representation is legitimate and effective online forms of citizen participation in Bulgaria is a guarantee that the solutions found on issues of public importance will be transparent and sustainable as all stakeholders will be involved in their work . This will help strengthen civil society and promote it as a full participant in the development of public policies.
