Joint formulation of an integrated spatial development policy for the coastal territories of Danube by government and citizens

The subject matter of this project proposal is the joint formulation of an integrated policy for spatial development of the Danube coastal territories by authorities and citizens. The applicant is an association of local authorities in the Danube Region, which has a key role in joint strategic planning and implementation of socio-economic policies by the local authorities in the region. The association has considerable experience both in implementing activities on themes of the integrated spatial development policy and in cooperation with a wide range of government, business and civic structures. The project has three objectives. First, to make recommendations for a better regulatory environment for formulating / implementing socio-economic policies in the Danube region in Bulgaria as a result of interaction between authorities, citizens and businesses. Second, partnership in governance of authorities, citizens and businesses, which are involved in joint process of formulating an integrated policy in the region. Third, open and responsible governance in the field of integrated spatial development policy of the Danube coastal territories, with involvement of all stakeholders. Three main activities are included in the scope of the project to formulate policies in the field of integrated spatial development of the Danube coastal territories. First, development of an expert study as a background of joint policy formulation. Second, study and identification of needs / attitudes / preferences of the target groups in this regard. Third, development of a Green Paper proposal. The result of the project is a contribution to a better regulatory environment for the socio-economic development of the Danube region in Bulgaria and to joint formulation of a policy by authorities and business and civic organizations in the region.
