"Civil Initiative for Transparency in the Environmental Monitoring Process as part of the effective implementation of environmental and sustainable development policies"

The independence, effectiveness and transparency of information related to the actual status of environmental components is one of the reasons for manifestations of civil society's negative attitudes towards the institutions. Improving the process of informing citizens about the work of institutions to collect, analyze and generate information on the state and quality of the various environmental components by creating a mechanism for involving citizens in these processes would prevent protests from raising the credibility of the authorities , responsible for the functioning of the National Environmental Monitoring System , that functions according to art. 1, p.7 under Environment protection Law, and for the implementation of environmental and sustainable development policies. Further, citizens 'involvement in policy-making and the establishment of transparency mechanisms in the process of integrated pollution prevention and control would contribute to citizens' health security and help create a more favorable business environment for complex permit operators. For the purpose of implementing the present project, activities related to studies of good practice and innovative solutions are foreseen; Development of analyzes, methodologies and models related to improving civic participation in the process of formulation, implementation and monitoring of environmental policies and legislation; Performing civil monitoring and control over the actions of the administration; Organizing a broad information campaign and awareness-raising activities on the opportunities / mechanisms / tools for civic participation in the process of formulating and implementing environmental monitoring policies.
