E - Natura 2000 –Upgrade of the Integrated Natura 2000 Information System

The project proposal refers to implementation of measure 73 “Development of ICT applications in support of the management of Natura 2000 sites” within the National prioritized action framework (NPAF). In the frame of the project will be updated and further developed the unified Natura 2000 information system that is developed and implemented under the Project DIR-59318-2-3 “Development and implementation of information system for protected sites under Natura 2000 Network”, Priority axis 3 of Operational Program “Environment 2007-2013” with beneficiary “National Nature Protection Service” Directorate of the MOEW. At present the system operates on amortized server devices situated in MOEW with outdated and/or already not maintained technologies (such as Microsoft's Silverlight), which leads to difficulties in the exploitation and in some cases impossibility for using the system by the users. The MOEW foresees readiness for integration of the information system with the horizontal e-Government systems: e-Authentication and e-Authorization, Regix, the National Spatial Data Catalog and the Open Data Portal, as well as the INSPIRE portal. Information systems will update integration with others information systems and registers in MOEW and other institutions in accordance with the updated e-Government Development Strategy in Republic Bulgaria (2019-2023). At the same time MOEW as an administrative body should make the content of its websites and mobile applications accessible in accordance with the requirements of Directive (EU) 2016/2102 regarding the accessibility of the websites and mobile applications of the public sector organizations, which were introduced by the adopted amendment of Law on Electronic Governance, which requires to be taken actions to be aligned with these requirements the public web site of the unified information system for protected sites under Natura 2000 and to be implemented a mobile application for improving the public access.
