Improvement of the specialized knowledges and skills of the staff of the REGIONAL FOOD SAFETY DIRECTORATE (RFSD) - Gabrovo

The REGIONAL FOOD SAFETY DIRECTORATE - Gabrovo /RFSD-Gabrovo/ is a territorial division of the Bulgarian Food Safety Agency /BFSA / and controls the territory of Gabrovo. She is an independent legal entity and a third-tier authorizing officer. Its structure consists of a Director and 4 departments: Animal Health, Food Control, Laboratory and Financial and accounting analysis. The project aims to improve the specialized knowledge and skills of the employees in the regional directorate, which is in line with the main purpose of the procedure - to improve the specialized knowledge and skills of the employees in the territorial administration. It provides for specialized in-person training on topics directly affecting the performance of the duties of the Directorate's employees: - control of animal health and animal welfare activities (during slaughter and transport); - control over the safety and quality of raw materials, foodstuffs, materials and articles intended to come into contact with foodstuffs, establishments for the processing of animal by-products; - food safety and quality. The training in each of the topics will be led by qualified lecturers, with experience and skills. The specialized training will include theoretical presentation and practices so as to enhance the professional qualifications of the RFSD employees. It is envisaged that training will be held on 7 different topics, directly related to the specific activity of the Regional Directorate, in order to increase the institutional capacity and effectiveness of the RFSD and to achieve better governance. It is envisaged to hold 141 pcs. specialized human training, and successfully trained 141 pcs. will receive a certificate that will have a positive impact on the capacity of the Directorate and the overall effectiveness of the BFSA's activities.
