Improvement of the specialized knowledge and skills of the staff of the REGIONAL FOOD SAFETY DIRECTORATE (RFSD) SLIVEN

The REGIONAL FOOD SAFETY DIRECTORATE (RFSD) Sliven is a territorial division of the Bulgarian Food Safety Agency /BFSA / and controls the territory of Sliven District. RFSD-Sl is an independent legal entity and a third-tier authorizing officer. The structure of the RFSD-Sl consists of a Director and 5 departments: Animal Health, Food Control, Plant Protection, Laboratory, and Financial and accounting analysis. The project proposal is aimed at organizing and conducting specialized in-person training. The training envisaged cover topics directly related to the performance of the duties of the employees of the RFSD-Sl, including their activity in: - control over the safety and quality of raw materials, foodstuffs, materials and articles intended to come into contact with foodstuffs, establishments for the processing of animal by-products; - control of veterinary activities in the field of animal health and animal welfare (during slaughter and transport); - phytosanitary control and control of plant protection products; - laboratory tests and researches The training in each of the topics is intended to be taught by qualified lecturers with experience and skills. Specialized training will include theoretical presentation and practices so as enhance the professional qualification and activity of employees of the RFSD-Sl. It is envisaged that training will be held on 10 different topics, which are directly related to the specific activity of RFSD-Sl. The training aim to improve the specialized knowledge and skills of the employees, and thus to increase the institutional capacity and effectiveness of the RFSD-Sl and to achieve better regulation and better management. The current project proposal envisages the implementation of 211 pcs. specialized human-training, with successfully completed trainings with certification are 211 pcs.
