Improvement of the specialized knowledge and skills of the staff of the REGIONAL FOOD SAFETY DIRECTORATE (RFSD) - Smolyan

The REGIONAL FOOD SAFETY DIRECTORATE Smolyan/RFSD-Sm/ is a territorial division of the Bulgarian Food Safety Agency /BFSA/ and controls the territory of Smolyan District. RFSD-Sm is an independent legal entity and a third-tier authorizing officer. There are employees working in the RFSD-Sm. employees are divided into 3 departments: Animal Health, Food Control and Financial and accounting analysis. The project proposal is aimed at organizing and conducting specialized in-person training. The training envisaged cover topics directly related to the performance of the duties of the employees of the RFSD-Sm, including their activity in: - control over the safety and quality of raw materials, foodstuffs, materials, and articles intended to come into contact with foodstuffs, establishments for the processing of animal by-products; - control of veterinary activities in the field of animal health and animal welfare (inc. during slaughter and transport); - plant protection products. The training in each of the topics is intended to be taught by qualified lecturers with experience and skills. The specialized training will include theoretical presentation and practices so as to enhance the professional qualifications and activities of the employees of the RFSD-Sm It is envisaged that training will be held on 7 different topics, which are directly related to the specific activity of RFSD-Sm. The training aims to improve the specialized knowledge and skills of the employees, and thus to increase the institutional capacity and effectiveness of the RFSD-Sm and to achieve better regulation and better management. The current project proposal envisages the implementation of 132 pcs. specialized human-trainings, with successfully completed training with certification, are 132 pcs.
