Improvement of the professional competences of the employees in the territorial units of the General Directorate "Execution of Sentences" through the implementation of specialized trainings for upgrading skills for analysis and evaluation of information in dealing with high-risk offenders and assisting their resocialization (GDIN - 1)

The current project proposal includes specialized training for 2 target groups: inspectors social activities and educational work in prisons and prison dormitories and probation inspectors in prisons. One of the main goals of treatment, stemming from the modern understanding of the nature of punishment, is to help prisoners benefit from their time in prison. Professional evaluation is a major stage in the social work process. In the process of re-education it is necessary to have a good knowledge of the ways and methods of working with individual clients, depending on the crime committed. A risk assessment of each prisoner is needed to determine whether he or she represents a low, medium, or high risk. At high risk of recurrence and harm, a work plan is set out that sets goals and objectives that would lead to certain interventions with the person that would reduce the risk. Exactly these interventions are carried out by the inspectors social activities and educational work and probation and this necessitates their preparation for upgrading skills for analyzing and evaluating information when dealing with high-risk offenders. The focus of employee work is on changes in the overall risk profile and needs compared to the initial assessment. In accordance with these functions and activities, under this project proposal, 1 specialized training will be conducted for the two target groups to upgrade their skills for conducting inter-vision and professional consulting for high-risk offenders / perpetrators of violent crimes / for the better implementation of the sentence plan and support their re-socialization. The training will be attended by 171 employees from the territorial units of the General Directorate "Execution of Sentences". The individual group courses will be carried in the place of employment or outside the settlement. At the end of the course, all students will receive a certificate for the specialized training.
