Improvement of the professional competences of the employees in the territorial offices of the General Directorate "Execution of of Sentences" through the implementation of specialized training for acquaintance with and use of new methods and models for work on particular case (GDIN - 2)

The current project proposal includes specialized training for 2 target groups: inspectors SAEW (social activities and educational work) in prisons and prison dormitories and probation inspectors in prisons. The SAEW are essential tools for the re-socialization of prisoners. It includes diagnostic and individual corrective action and the individual case work and the preparation of risk and recurrence risk assessment are the main and key activities of the inspectors SAEW and the probation inspectors in prisons in accordance with the provisions of Art. 120, para. 1, item 1 of the LESD (Law on the execution of sentences and detention). For the particular case study the toolkit, to work with, is from 2002 and this creates a number of difficulties in the preparation of the assessment and the initial report on the persons serving a sentence of imprisonment since their profile has changed over the years, that is why a change is required how they to be treated to achieve the results set out in the sentence execution plan. The assessment is an extremely important tool also in case of change of the legal status of the persons according to the provision of Art. 155 of the LESD, specifically based on the evaluation of the convicted person, proposals are made for: 1. change in the regime of serving the sentence; 2. transfer to a prison facility of a lighter or a heavier type; 3. conditional early release. In accordance with these functions and activities, within this project proposal, 1 specialized training will be provided for the two target groups for acquaintance with and use of new methods and models for work on particular case and employees will improve their professional judgment on the case. The training will be attended by 171 employees from the territorial units of the GDES. The individual group courses will be carried in the place of employment or outside the settlement. At the end of the course, all students will receive a certificate for the specialized training.
