Specialized trainings for the regional laboratories of the EEA Directorate General Laboratory and Analytical Activities

The EEA is an administration to the Minister of Environment and Waters for the implementation of management, coordination and information functions regarding the control and protection of the environment in Bulgaria. The Directorate-General for “Laboratory-Analytical Activity” (objective of the project proposal) is part of the specialized administration. It is structured in 15 territorial units - 1 unit Central Laboratory-Sofia, comprising 9 departments and 14 regional units located in the cities of Blagoevgrad, Burgas, Varna, Veliko Turnovo, Vratsa, Montana, Pazardzhik, Pleven, Plovdiv, Ruse, Stara Zagora, Smolyan, Haskovo, Shumen. The units carry out sampling of the components and environmental factors and their subsequent testing in order to maintain up-to-date information on the state of the environment and up-to-date data in the National Environmental Monitoring System, to assist the Regional Inspections of Environment and Water in their control activity, and the 4 Basin Directorates for river basin management. The trainings aim to increase the expertise in the fulfillment of the basic duties, which is in line with the purpose of the procedure: "Improving the specialized knowledge and skills of employees in territorial units / divisions and territorial structures". Main activities: A1: Compliance reporting according to BDS EN ISO / IEC 17025: 2018 and decision making rule; A2: Statistical methods: Uncertainty of measurement; A3: Analysis of environmental samples for radiological testing; A4: Implementation of the requirements of the European Union directives related to air and soil quality control; A5: Specialized topic training - Spectral methods of analysis. All activities will be carried out on the territory of Bulgaria. For each project activity, the Beneficiary has also provided costs for preparation of project documentation, as well as indirect costs for project management, information and publicity, amounting to 8% of the cost of the activities.
