Model for active civic participation in the formulation, management and monitoring of local policy for the development of sports in the municipalities of Vidin, Vratsa and Montana

The project idea includes the creation of a working practical model for ensuring citizen participation in the formulation, development, implementation and monitoring of municipal policies and activities in the field of sports in the municipalities of Vidin, Vratsa and Montana. The ideas and needs of society, the decisions made on activities and policies for sport and thus create the preconditions for long-term sustainability. The project activities envisage five steps to build an effective model for civic participation in the formulation, monitoring and management of sports policies in three of the municipalities - Vidin, Vratsa and Montana. The first project goal is to analyze the current state of activities and through dialogue with stakeholders to outline indicators for working sports policies. Second step is to create an evaluation methodology, and foreign experience will be studied and implemented so that it is suitable for work in the area. The established common methodology for the three municipalities will be discussed at a meeting with representatives of the municipalities, non-governmental organizations, sports experts and heads of school organizations. The next step in the project activities will be to acquaint the municipal administrations with the criteria by which we will evaluate their sports policies, both for high sportsmanship and mass sports. After the evaluations of the administrations are presented, a model of civic participation in formulating, managing and monitoring the local policy for the development of sports in the three municipalities and will be prepared and presented. An analysis of the work performed will be presented at a round table in Vidin at the end of the project. The prepared recommendations will be presented to the public of the three municipalities and published on a specially created website. In addition, we must point out that such independent assessments of large municipalities will be made for the first time
