Citizens' partnership with local authorities, a prerequisite for the application of the principles of transparency, openness and effectiveness of public policies for sustainable development of the territory

Sustainable rural development is linked to the natural environment and the ecological and technical infrastructure. The lack of investment in infrastructure and the poor quality of services offered worsens the quality of life. The targeting of funds is often remote from local development needs and does not always manage to direct financial resources to the priority needs of each territory. This can be addressed through established partnerships and the active involvement of citizens, NGOs and businesses in local policies. The support within the intervention will be implemented through the Integrated Territorial Investments, which require the preparation of civil structures and joint planning of local policies. For this purpose, 2 studies are conducted to register the needs in the field of environmental protection and tourism. Based on the collected information, the following will be developed: Environmental Protection Program, Waste Management Program and Strategy for Sustainable Tourism Development. In this way, with the participation of the citizens, a long-term policy for sustainable development of Stambolovo municipality with accents ecology and tourism will be planned. An exemplary Partnership Agreement will be developed, which will be used as a model for regulating the partnerships of NGOs with the municipality, and 4 project concepts in the field of ecology and tourism will be developed and submitted to the SRC RDC for approval. . The established Public Council for Tourism and Sustainable Development at the General Assembly will support the development, implementation and monitoring of local policies. The conference "Sustainable Development of Stambolovo Municipality with the Active Participation of Citizens and Business" will promote and multiply the project results, thus citizens will be involved in all stages of research, development, implementation and monitoring of local sustainable development policy. on the territory.
