Conducting an advocacy campaign for the application of the Bulgarian Sign Language act at the local level

The main goal of this project is to improve the quality of administrative services at the local level by conducting an advocacy campaign for the proper and timely implementation of the Bulgarian Sign Language Act. Within the framework of the planned activity, 25 information meetings will be held - with the 24 regional administrations and with representatives of the Culture, Education, Sports and Youth Activities of Sofia Municipality for the correct and timely implementation of the Bulgarian Sign Language Act (BGSLA) at local level. A round table will be held hosted formally by Sofia Municipality, with the participation of municipal employees of the 7 municipalities with a greater concentration of deaf and deafblind people in Bulgaria - Sofia Municipality, Plovdiv, Varna, Burgas, Stara Zagora, Ruse and Pleven. The round table will discuss the problems that municipalities face in the implementation of the Bulgarian Sign Language Act, as well as will share good practices in this direction. 2000 brochures on good practices, approaches, common mistakes in the implementation of the BGSLA at the local level will be prepared, printed and distributed. The project is expected to last 12 months and have a budget of BGN 59 898,75 .
