Citizen participation in local cybersecurity policies for personal data protection

This project is aimed at implementing measures to promote civic participation in the implementation and monitoring of policies and legislation in Bulgaria and in particular - achieving open and responsible government of the process of digitalization of services and cybersecurity in the Municipality of Dupnitsa. The project addresses two problems of the target groups. On the one hand - the lack of the necessary technological, procedural preparedness and appropriate local regulations, and on the other - the lack of electronic administrative services to facilitate civic turnover in the municipality. To address the above, the scope of the project envisages the following activities: • Research and analysis of legislation related to cybersecurity in e-government • Handbook for using the functionalities of social networks in the dialogue between the administration and civil society • Study of good practices: European legislation and cybersecurity in the electronic services of municipal administrations; • Development of a model for institutionalization of measures for achieving better cybersecurity in the municipal administration • Discussion of recommendations and interaction with citizens In summary, the project aims to promote civic participation in the implementation and monitoring of local policies for the introduction of electronic administrative services in order to achieve a modern vision of municipal administration and meet the current technological requirements of users of these services through implementation of public-private partnership measures and open and responsible governance.
