Citizen participation in local policies for fair and open partnership between business, citizens and the municipality

This project proposal is developed with the basic idea to achieve open and responsible governance through partnership governance with citizens and businesses. The aim is through the model of public-private partnership to increase public confidence in the spending of budget funds, which will contribute to improving the confidence of business and citizens in state and municipal procedures and administration. The need that will be met through the implementation of this project proposal is the need to improve civic monitoring and evaluation of policies, promote partnerships between business, citizens and the municipality for a better regulatory environment, and strengthen the responsibility of leaders and employees, which is in line with the two objectives of SP3 of PA2 of OPGG. The target groups of this project proposal are the municipal administration - Belitsa, as well as its employees; non-governmental organizations, as well as their employees; members of the public. The main activities demonstrate a proactive and flexible approach to achieving the project objectives: 1. Study of citizens' expectations for transparent governance 2. Promotion of the results of the activity survey 1 3. Development of strategic documents and holding working meetings with representatives of the municipality of Belitsa 4. Public discussion of the strategic documents 5. Civic participation in governance through the use of social networks The expected results are increased transparency and accountability of government, increased commitment and trust of citizens and businesses in public institutions, improved environment for civic participation in government by increasing the interaction between administration, business and citizens; increasing the activity of the NGO sector in the formulation, implementation and monitoring of policies and legislation; as well as improving the socio-economic environment as a result of more open and responsible governance.
