Civic monitoring and interaction to optimize the efficiency of local administration through transparent, accountable and publicly available actions

This project is aimed at implementing measures to promote civic participation in the process of formulating, implementing and monitoring policies and legislation in Bulgaria and achieving open and responsible governance through the promotion of e-democracy. In the age of information technology, the empowerment of civil society and the use of civil rights, including the basic political right of vote, can not and should not be considered only in its traditional form. ICT enable direct participation in the political process between elections through citizens' initiatives and referendums. ICT can increase accessibility and activity in the political elections themselves and hence improve the representativeness and sustainability of democracy. The scope of the project envisages the following activities: - Develop a legal analysis in order to assess the current regulatory environment, its suitability, what opportunities it can deliver and how it can be improved in the direction of introducing more e - forms of civic participation; - Evaluation of attitudes towards e-citizenship, according to the norms regulated at local, regional and national level; - Manual for digital transformation of the municipal administration; - Creating a social platform for involving citizens in policy monitoring. The development of computer and information technology (ICT) in our time creates enormous opportunities for social inclusion, broadly opening up the political process, and using the knowledge, wisdom and talent of people to achieve quality management decisions and hence a better life.
