Pernik is moving! Policies to promote physical activity at the local level.

The project "Pernik is moving! Policies to promote physical activity at the local level" is developed by ProBudnik association, in partnership with the municipality of Pernik. It's provoked by increasing trends of immobilization and deterioration of health, as well as the lack of targeted and effective policies to address this problem and its implications at the local level. The project aims to increase the capacity of the municipal administration to create conditions for physical activity and sports in the municipality of Pernik, by increasing civic participation and building partnerships with business in the process of formulating, implementing and monitoring healthy lifestyle policies. To achieve the goals, activities are planned for research, analysis and evaluation of policies at the municipal level, identification of attitudes, needs and challenges of the local community and analysis of opportunities for physical activity; creation of a Methodology for assessment of good governance; Preparation of Recommendations, Plan and Report with good practices. The developed strategic tools and documents will be validated and implemented through a Partnership Agreement between the municipal administration, civil society and sports service providers. The implementation of the project proposal will guarantee: - Increasing the capacity of the municipality of Pernik for partnership and transparent management with civil society and business; - Increasing the motivation and opportunities of civil society for active participation and contribution to improving the environment and quality of life; - Creating effective models for planning, formulating and monitoring policies. The project has significant potential for multiplication both at the local level (for other socio-economic sectors) and at the national level in other municipalities. And contributes to the achievement of the objectives of the OPGG and the relevant priority axis 2.
