"More Civic Activism - a Better Environment with Better Governance"

The project is aimed at the following target groups: A)Municipality of Ihtiman, as well as its employees B)The public in the municipality of Ihtiman C)Business in the municipality of Ihtiman The main goal of the project is to promote partner-based local government of the policy for business environment improvement through practical support to enhancement of the participation of both citizens and businesses in the process of monitoring and control of the administration's tools in this area The following are envisaged: -studies on the current situation regarding civic participation and the application of municipal instruments in the field covered within the project, incl. online survey among target groups -analysis of the potential in the Municipality of Ihtiman to improve the participation of citizens and businesses in the process of monitoring, control and reformulation of policy and measures to improve the business environment at the local level -development of a Mechanism for participation of citizens and businesses in the monitoring and control of the implementation of the instruments of the municipal administration in the specified field, incl. by conducting a public discussion -a preliminary impact assessment of the mechanism -sending an official Recommendation to the Municipality in connection with the implementation of the mechanism -information campaign with online publications and distribution of an informational video The project will improve the interaction between the administration and the local citizens and business in the process of implementation and reformulation of the policy for improving the business environment in the municipality. It will help to build a sustainable model of partnership-based local government in this area, with the implementation of an effective civic monitoring. This, in itself, will favor the actual achievement of better results in the policy pursued, as well as the increasing of civic activism in the municipality
