Civil society in support of the municipality of Malko Tarnovo for effective governance

This project proposal has been developed by the NORTHWEST INSTITUTE FOR YOUTH POLICIES Foundation in partnership with the Municipality of Malko Tarnovo, in accordance with the requirements and objectives of OP Good Governance, Specific Objective 3 Increasing civic participation in policy making and monitoring of Priority Axis 2 Effective and professional governance in partnership with civil society and business The project activities will be implemented on the territory of the Inner Strandzha region, covering the municipalities of Malko Tarnovo, Sredets, Primorsko, Tsarevo and Sozopol Within the project the partners will implement activities with a main focus on improving the existing policies and practices in the field of natural and cultural-historical heritage in the region of Inner Strandzha and will make specific recommendations for their improvement. This will be done through a review of existing legislation and practices in these areas, including through a Regional Forum with representatives of the various stakeholders. As a result of these activities, the main problems and needs related to environmental protection, tourism development, restoration of cultural and historical heritage, demographic development of the region will be outlined. In addition, the project envisages the organization of a campaign under the pilot civic initiative "STRANDJA 2030 -Green-Digital-Connected", as a result of which an Action Plan for the implementation of the initiative will be developed. It will contain a comprehensive concept and all necessary steps and actions, incl. specific normative and legislative proposals for its implementation. In conclusion, the partners will hold an Information Day, through which they will acquaint the general public with the opportunities for closer partnership between municipal authorities and citizens. In this way, more active citizen participation in the decision-making processes on the most important topics for the Society will be ensured
