The project aims to encourage civic participation in political decision-making processes, to develop a mechanism for joint cooperation and increase the interaction between the municipal administration and civil society organizations to improve the regulatory environment. The project implementation will improve the interaction between the local government and the civil sector and will create conditions for their active participation in setting priorities and formulating policies for the development of the local community. The final effect of the implementation of the activities is to improve the environment for civic participation in government, which is fundamental for joint political decision-making. In order to achieve effective interaction in the direction of complementarity, cooperation and attraction, it is necessary to have conditions such as creating a favorable environment for interaction (legislative and institutional), good knowledge of stakeholders and the specifics of different groups of participants, high motivation for participation and building trust between them. Proactive behavior on the part of citizens and their associations and the desire for inclusion are essential, given that interaction is a two-way process and depends on the behavior of all participants. In this regard, recommendations will be made to the Municipality of Haskovo to improve the environment for civic participation in governance based on research and analyzes of the identified needs and attitudes of stakeholders. Draft documents regulating the terms and conditions for conducting public discussions in the municipality will be developed, as well as related to the functioning of civic forums and councils, formation of working groups /committees and advisory bodies, organization of public and advisory forums, feedback forms and assessing satisfaction with stakeholder participation in joint activities and proposals to improve their effectiveness.
