Monitoring of local policies in the municipality of Sadovo for effective inclusion and participation of Roma through a partnership with citizens and businesses

The idea of this project proposal is based on the vision and guidelines of the European Commission, which on October 7, 2020, published a reformed EU strategic framework for Roma, which sets out a comprehensive approach to socio-economic inclusion of Roma by promoting equality and participation. In the 2030 Progress Goals and the Guidelines for the Member States, the EU explicitly states that one of the conditions for effective implementation is the engagement of the non-governmental sector in EU-wide coordinated Roma civil society monitoring. The project envisages a survey on the territory of Sadovo municipality of the opinions, attitudes, and assessments of public authorities, businesses, NGOs, citizens/public, incl. and representatives of the Roma community, as well as an analysis of the effectiveness of measures for Roma inclusion and participation in connection with the implementation of the Municipal Action Plan in Implementation of the Regional and National Strategies for Roma Integration. It is also planned to organize an information campaign to present the results of the analyzes and publish recommendations for harmonization of local policies of Sadovo municipality in accordance with the new realities and the new reformed strategic European and national frameworks for Roma inclusion and participation through a partnership with citizens and business. The project will contribute to building the capacity of all participants in good governance and monitoring of policies for the Roma population in the municipality of Sadovo in a substantial, dignified, impartial, inclusive, and transparent manner.
